CS (Corseal) products' foundation is our rectangular style perforated tang core.  All CS products feature high temperature facings on one or both sides of the core.  Our rectangular core provides twice the number of bonding points per square inch as the starburst tang core. It is ideal for narrow wall and tight geometric configurations.

CS 253 is a value-line, pure graphite laminate with rectangular tang core for use in moderate heat applications where graphite is preferred.  This import grade graphite offers the excellent cold flow and initial sealing characteristics of our domestic graphite line at a substantially reduced cost.  CS 253 is rated to 900° F and is a good choice for graphite applications where economic considerations are a key factor.

CS 920 is our reliable performance, domestic graphite using rectangular tang .  This material can be used in a broad range of sealing environments and offers the consistency and lot traceability required in OEM applications.  This material offers substantial heat resistance and is recommended in applications up to 1400° F.  CS 920 is available in finished thicknesses from .038” to .068” and can be customized to meet your specific engineering requirements.

CS 980 is the anti-oxidant version of the CS 920.  Formulated for oxidation resistance, this graphite performs longer at high temperatures than standard graphite materials.  The service life is expected to be up to 3X longer under the same operating conditions.  This grade is recommended for OEM applications where conditions are tough and performance is critical. CS 980 is typically used in exhaust system gaskets with high heat.

CS 365 is our rectangular core version of the popular HT 654 product.  This version is used to seal at lower flange loads and when narrow land areas are present on the gasket sealing surface. This product provides good performance and high value at an economical price.

CS 794 combines a performance-designed, non-asbestos fibrous material to our smaller, rectangular tang core technology. CS 794 is well suited for the fabrication of tight geometric patterns and narrow wall constructions.  The nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) binder system encapsulates the fibers in the facing providing good resistance to most coolants, fuels, and oils. This material is a good choice for cylinder head gaskets, intake gaskets, and other fluid sealing environments such as steam and water.

CS 830 is mti’s versatile intake and head gasket material able to withstand temperatures to 1400° F.   The 75% graphite, 25% Kevlar® cover sheet provides incredible strength without the easily marred finish of conventional graphite products.  CS 830 offers the cold flow and sealability of graphite, while the smaller, rectangular tang core technology allows for the fabrication of tight geometric patterns and narrow wall construction gaskets.  The compression and recovery characteristics are excellent and offer improved torque retention and sealability over our starburst tang core, enhancing performance in soft crush applications.  CS 830 is a premium material designed for the OE engine market and should be considered for environments in which graphite would be preferred.
