HT Series Product Line HT Series (Hi-Tex) products' foundation is our starburst style perforated tang core. All HT products feature high temperature facings on one or both sides of the core. Our starburst core is robust and best used in applications requiring a strong perforation and consistent recovery characteristics. There is no asbestos in any HT product.
HT 142
is a value-line, pure graphite laminate with starburst tang metal for
use in moderate heat applications where graphite is preferred. This
import grade graphite offers the excellent cold flow and initial sealing
characteristics of our domestic graphite line at a substantially reduced
cost. HT 142 is rated to 900° F and is a good choice for graphite
applications where cost is a significant factor.
HT 908 is our reliable performance, domestic graphite using starburst tang. This material can be applied to a broad range of sealing environments and offers the consistency and lot traceability required in OEM applications. This material offers excellent heat resistance and is recommended in applications up to 1400° F. HT 908 is available in finished thicknesses from .038” to .068” and can be customized to meet your specific engineering requirements.
HT 959 is the anti-oxidant version of the HT 908. Formulated for oxidation resistance, this graphite performs longer at high temperatures than standard graphite materials. The service life is expected to be up to 3X longer under the same operating conditions. HT 959 is recommended for OEM applications where conditions are tough and performance is critical. Typically used in exhaust system gaskets with high heat, this material can be customized to meet the needs of the gasket. A stainless steel core is also available with this product.
HT 337 is the most versatile material made by mti, accepting heat over 1400° F, while offering the cold flow and sealability of graphite. The 75% graphite, 25% Kevlar® cover sheet provides incredible strength without the easily marred finish of conventional graphite products. This highly universal material can be found in a wide range of products including: sealing intake and exhaust applications, cylinder heads, high pressure / temperature engine ports, and high performance turbo charger environments. HT 337 is a premium material that virtually eliminates burnout and leakage problems and has been our fastest growing product in many market segments.
HT 400 is one of our premium, extreme temperature, hot gas and exhaust materials, widely used in the OE automotive industry. The high temperature vermiculite and ceramic fibers which make up the cover sheet can withstand temperatures to 1800° F. HT 400 is thermally insulative, making this material well suited for heat shield applications. Its high temperature properties, combined with the strength of the .0077” ETP low carbon steel starburst tang core, allow this material to perform in some of the most demanding and high performance exhaust environments.
HT 654 is a value-line, hot gas and exhaust, and general purpose laminate, suited for a variety of sealing applications. The high temperature resin and inorganic fiber cover sheet is mechanically bonded to our 0.0077” ETP low carbon steel starburst tang core, providing stability and integrity even when exposed to scrubbing, high heat, and rapid heating and cooling cycles. HT 654 fabricates cleanly, is economically priced, and, like all of mti’s product lines, is completely asbestos free. This product is a favorite for value oriented, performance driven, small engine, and aftermarket fabricators everywhere! HT 654 can be coated with our TechCoat line of Teflon® surface treatments which will improve this product’s anti-stick and sealing characteristics.
