AR Series Product Line AR (Armor) products feature a perforated metal layer on both sides of a composite core. Armor is excellent for extreme heat, and the steel outer layers protect the inner sealing layer for long-term performance.
AR 897 takes the AR series to another level, using a rock-wool based fiber core, providing a temperature rating to over 1900° F. This product has been tested to withstand heat that no other materials were able to survive. AR 897 should be considered for such joints as: heavy duty diesel exhaust, high temperature shielding, and furnace gasketing. AR 400 is our metal clad, extreme heat environment (to 1800° F) material designed for applications that tear ordinary gasket materials apart. We jacket high temperature vermiculite-based facings with .0077” ETP starburst tang, creating a material with the strength and durability to take scrubbing, vibration, teardown/reassembly, and frequent heat cycling. This material is often used as a heat shield (deflector), exhaust gasket or where metal to metal contact is preferred in the flange assembly.
AR 925 is the Armor-style product that uses flexible graphite as the center layer between two steel layers. This does two things: it provides conformance and compression, as well as thermal conductivity. AR 925 makes your gasket or heat shield a virtual thermal-management device. It can be used for high temperature exhaust gaskets, allowing the graphite core to distribute the heat across the area. This reduces hot spots that can lead to oxidation. The demands of the performance racing industry require the high-performance properties of this material.
